How to watch
What do you know?
After two games on the road, Carolina returns home. They will finish out 2024 at home by hosting the Campbell Fighting Camels at 8:00 PM ET on Sunday at the Dean E. Smith Center. The Tar Heels boast some offensive muscle as they average 85.7 points per game this season.
It was close last Saturday, but Carolina eventually received the gift of a 76-74 victory from a red-hot Tar Heels team. The victory came thanks to a strong lead that began at 12:52 of the second half, when the team was facing a 59-43 deficit.
Ian Jackson was the offensive star of the game as he went 8-for-13 en route to 24 points. He had some trouble getting up against Florida last Tuesday, so this was a step in the right direction.
Meanwhile, Campbell suffered a tough 77-55 defeat to Longwood on Wednesday. The Fighting Camels have now earned an “L” in back-to-back games.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the scoreline, Campbell struggled to get it together and finished the game with just six assists. They were decimated by their opponents in that department with Longwood scoring 17.
Carolina is on a roll lately: They’ve won three of their last four games, providing a nice boost to their 7-5 record this season. As for Campbell, their loss dropped their record to 5-7.
Sunday’s contest is shaping up to be a rollercoaster of a game: North Carolina has crashed the glass this season, averaging 38.8 rebounds per game. It’s a different story for Campbell, who averages just 31.5. Given North Carolina’s significant advantage in this area, Campbell will need to find a way to close that gap.
