President Trump plans to nominate Susan Monarerez to be the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according to a position on the social media platform.
Monares is not a doctor but he holds a doctorate in microbiology and immunity. She has 20 years of experience in government jobs. She was the Deputy Director of the Advanced Health Research Projects Agency, a research financing agency describing itself as supporting “medical and healthy and healthy breakthroughs”.
While he was with the federal government, Monarerez worked in the Ministry of Internal Security and the White House Science and Technology Office policy.
“Dr. Monares brings contracts for experience in defending innovation, transparency and powerful public health systems,” Trump said in a post on his social site.
“As an incredible mother and a dedicated government employee, Dr. Monares realizes the importance of protecting our children, societies and our future. The Americans have lost confidence in the center of diseases control due to political bias and disastrous mismanagement.”
If the Senate is confirmed by the Senate, Monarerez, headed by the Atlanta -based agency, will have a budget of $ 17.3 billion. It tracks local and foreign threats to public health, including an investigation into the outbreaks of diseases transmitted by food and the search for pathogens transmitted by food. Many of the budget of the Disease Control Center goes to help finance public health and government prevention activities.
Monarez will submit a direct report to the Minister of Health and Humanitarian Services Robert F. Kennedy Junior.
