Travis Kelce is enjoying the excitement of the NFL playoffs while also navigating life as the boyfriend of international superstar Taylor Swift.
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face the Houston Texans in the AFC Divisional Round, the tight end gave fans a rare glimpse into his high-profile relationship during an appearance on ESPN’s “The Pat McAfee Show.”
During the chat, Travis not only discussed the upcoming game, but also shared thoughts on what it means for him to have Taylor cheering on him from the stands. As rumors spread about a new musical era for the singer, host Pat McAfee couldn’t resist asking if Travis had any inside knowledge.
“I hear music everywhere, but you know I can’t say anything,” he replied with a smile, choosing to keep any potential album secrets under wraps. When Pat joked about whether he might inspire some of Taylor’s songwriting, Travis laughed and played along. “You know she’s already full. I’m just here to support her and see where she goes.”
Attention then turned to the exciting energy Taylor’s presence brings to Chiefs games. Pat wondered if there would be an extra “aura” on the field during the big match, in reference to the hype surrounding her appearance. “Oh yeah, you know that, baby,” Travis confirmed. “It’s a football playoff, man.”
Taylor has been a familiar face at Arrowhead Stadium all season, only missing one home game due to tour commitments. The last time I attended, on December 21, I watched Travis and his team defeat the Texans 27-19, a good omen for the upcoming rematch.
Her unwavering support has led fans to joke that she is the Chiefs’ mascot, with Pat noting that live bettors notice whenever she steps on the field. “People see her coming in and immediately bet on the Chiefs winning,” he joked.
Off the field, speculation about a connection between Travis and Taylor continues to mount. While the couple has kept their future plans private, Travis shared his thoughts on weddings on his podcast, “New Heights,” which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce.
In a recent episode, the brothers discussed the timing of the wedding after a listener asked if tying the knot in the fall would conflict with football season. Travis was quick to express his preference. “I don’t know a lot of people who get married in the fall. Most of the weddings I would have would be in the summer,” he explained, stressing that fall is all about football.
He humorously suggested that if soccer clashes were a worry, the best solution was to plan around the team’s schedule. “You have to choose a weekend when the team is not playing any big team,” he joked. “And if you want to make sure the anniversary doesn’t get too overwhelming, fall probably isn’t the best choice.”
His position was clear: fall weddings are off the table. “I’ve seen weddings in February. I’ve seen weddings in every season except fall. So, I don’t know if fall is really the best time.”
