Tottenham approved a deal worth 60 million euros (50.2 million pounds) with Bayern Munich to sign Matess Tel, according to reports in France.
Tel has put many Premier League clubs on alert by informing Bayern that he wants to leave before the end of the January transfer window.
Spears, who signed Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinski for 12.5 million pounds earlier this month, traveled to signing Tel as a sports director of the club, Johann Lang, to Germany to hold direct talks with Bayern on Wednesday.
