Thomas Müller to leave Bayern Munich at end of season

Thomas Muller Bayern Munich will leave at the end of the season, putting an end to a 25 -year profession with the club, after not being presented to a new contract.

In a statement, Müller, 35, who started as a young player and won 12 record titles in the league with Bayern – more than any player in the German league – he wanted to stay.

“It is clear that today is not like any other day for me,” Muller said. “My 25 -year -old will be over as a FC Bayern Munich player in the summer. It was an incredible trip, formed through unique experiences, great confrontations and unforgettable victories.

“I am grateful and very happy because I got this profession with my beloved club. The relationship of the club and our wonderful fans will always remain. What I want goodbye should be clear: the addresses that we can celebrate together, and moments we will remember for a long time.

“We will all give us in the coming weeks to return the league title to Munich and reach the desired” Dahoam conclusion. Let’s do it together! “

He did not refer to the next step of his career in the club.

Müller has witnessed, for years, a guaranteed beginner for Bayern, that the time for his play is sharply decreased in the past two seasons, and now he plays a simple role in the era of coach Vincent Kompany.

His future was the subject of speculation for several months, but so far, both the club and the player remained silent. Although there is no indication that Muller will retire from football any time soon, Bayern hinted that they wanted to participate with the club after the end of his playing days.

Bayern said that the decision to end his career in the club was jointly taken with the player, and Muller will appear his club at the club’s World Cup in the United States in June and July.

“Thomas Muller is an example of the profession of Bavarian textbooks,” club president Herbert Hiner said in a statement.

“No one has won more German championships, and 33 titles talking about folders. He joins the most prominent FC Bayern classes.”

Sports Director Christophe Frond Muller thanked him for his service in Bayern. He said: “Thomas Muller: There are no tricks, no offer, just an incredible amount of instinctive and exceptional reading of the game – a pure football player. There will never be the same like him, and this is certain, and FC Bayern has absorbed since his childhood.

“This decision was very difficult, as everyone can understand. In the end it was for the reasons for planning difference, and the most important thing is that you can look at each other in the eye after that. This is the case here. We will now do everything we can to finish more awards.”

One club player, rare in the best football these days, Muller won two Champions League titles, two of the club’s World Cup and six German cups with Bayern, among other titles. It also helped Germany win the 2014 World Cup.

Müller can add more titles this season to the swollen cup cabinet, where Bayern led the championship with a nine points. Inter Milan also face the quarter -finals of the Champions League next week.

The European Champions League final will be held in Allianz in Munich.

“Now our full focus is on our sports goals for this season,” Muller said. “It would be a dream to restore the League Cup home and reach the long -awaited final at home at the end of May.”

Muller retired from Germany’s duty after leaving the Euro 2024, where he ended his international career with 131 capsules and 45 goals.
