Our Lord’s year, 2024, was full of moments from the company’s media that will go down in history as drops in the bucket that led to its downfall. From MSNBC to CNN, ABC to CBS, legacy media seemed addicted to shooting themselves in the foot.
Grabien, the company that photographs crowdsourced media moments, has compiled the top ten moments of 2024 where media has gotten particularly bad.
Looking from the top, we have the “cheap fake” controversy, with MSNBC accusing “right-wing media outlets,” including the RNC’s account on X, of creating doctored videos of President Joe Biden to make him look away and unable to do so. His job. MSNBC said the goal was to make people doubt Biden’s fitness to hold office.
Only it wasn’t fake. These were just unedited videos of Biden looking lost and confused, and the media was effectively telling you not to believe your eyes and ears, and buy into the propaganda they were putting in front of you.
Number Nine shows a CNN correspondent being shocked by the Trump supporters he spoke to. While he was asking them a question, he mentioned that America is a “democracy,” and Trump’s supporters politely corrected him and told him that America is in fact a republic. CNN featured this on Anderson Cooper’s show, trying to claim that Trump supporters were wrong.
They are not. We are not a democracy, we are a constitutional republic by definition.
Number Eight was the media hype during the DNC that Beyoncé was going to attend and perform. She never did, but the media did their best to create hype for her appearance. When she didn’t show up, it was one of the most embarrassing moments of 2024 for them, and that didn’t help Kamala Harris in the least.
The seventh reason was the media’s attempt to create fear about Project 2025. In fact, it did so so much that the Democratic National Committee tried to use it on several occasions to scare people on stage into rejecting Trump.
The problem is that Project 2025 was not Trump’s plan, it was Heritage Foundations’ plan. Trump had nothing to do with it, and despite desperate attempts to link Trump to Project 2025, the scare tactic only worked on people who wanted to be afraid of him. Project 2025 has ended up as a major failure for the Harris campaign.
The sixth example is the media’s continued release of “misinformation” about X. Ironically, in a CBS report on this same matter, it was stated that Distinguish between real images and images generated by artificial intelligence. Naturally, CBS blamed the “misinformation” on conservatives. CNN also did its part, noting that Elon Musk was “struggling” to contain the lies on the platform.
It wasn’t. In fact, the company’s own media has been under fire on X, and repeatedly cited by the community, for spreading the same misinformation.
The fifth reason was the media’s attempt to portray Tim Walz as a moderate, and J.D. Vance as an eccentric. Grabien does a great job of showing how much the media drools over Walz, and tries to paint him as just a regular old American guy. Naturally, as time went on, it became clear that Waltz was not a moderate and, in fact, was an outsider. In contrast, the media made a real effort to portray Vance as an alienated extremist. However, Vance ended up being the most natural guy of the group on both sides.
The fourth thing is that the media will shed tears and feel fear if Trump is elected. The amount of pearl inspired by the little chickens was almost impressive. MSNBC tried to portray Trump’s election as “do or die” for women, that he would be a dictator on day one, and compared him to dictators in the world. why not?
Number three was the claim that Joe Biden would never pardon Hunter Biden because he is an upright man and the kind of person who respects the law… Yes. He did.
The second was when ABC was caught editing Kamala Harris’ interview with them to make it appear much more competent than it actually was. If you watch the unedited version, you’ll see that Harris was a mess. This scandal became big enough that it actually fell into meme territory, with many people quipping, “I grew up in a middle-class family.” The editing of 60 Minutes about Israel’s war with Hamas was also deceptive editing to make Harris look better, and I’m not sure 60 Minutes has recovered from that blow yet.
And what is the most terrible media hoax of 2024? Biden is at his peak cognitively and physically. As Joe Scarborough emphatically declared, “This version of Biden is the best Biden ever.” Alejandro Mayorkas described him as “sharp” and “detail-oriented” on MSNBC, and CNN claimed he had a “photographic memory.”
According to the media, you were all crazy for thinking that Biden was not smart and capable at all.
I’ll leave this here.
