The new Labor Party plan to reduce civil service jobs this morning, as union heads said it is a “recipe for disaster.”
Whitehall has increased by more than 15,000 since the end of 2023, but according to the government, workers have not seen concrete improvements.
In a plan to be announced in the coming days, the Minister of Cabinet Office will provide “agreed exit on each other”, so people with poor performance can easily leave their jobs.
The highest paid civil service employees will be rejected if there is no improvement within six months, and there will be a new payment system, with an increase in the use of digital systems.
However, the plan was identified by the unions and comparison To “Trump” efforts to put out the state in the United States.
The Secretary -General of the Trading Union Conference, Paul Novak, told Radio Times that he was “disappointed” in this plan, and said that the cuts in the civil service are not what is required at the present time.
He said: “I think this is a set of proposals that are more looking to get the headlines instead of a dangerous plan to repair our public services,” he said.
“You must be serious about involving the employees who participate in providing these services”, otherwise it is “a recipe for disaster.”
He also assumed a problem in the suggestion that the civil service is not operating effectively, saying: “It was a contract and a half of investing in our public services. Now the number of civil services, civil service employees have risen.
“We have had the exit of Britain from the European Union in the past few years and we are now doing things in the UK, and commercial agreements, for example, have not done it before.
“A full set of things about veterinary standards, for example, we hadn’t done before.”
Prime Minister Kiir Starmer sparked a violent reaction last year when he claimed that “many people in Whitatol were comfortable in the lukewarm bath from orbit,” and warned the change came to the civil service.
The interior of the Prime Minister’s comment, NOWAK said he does not agree to “Trump’s language”.
He said: “I do not think that the language is always useful when you try to draw those who provide public services often in the sharp end in difficult circumstances as part of the problem in a way.
“Now the workforce of the public service of civil service is similar to any workforce, there are some people who are not less weight.
“To describe the vast majority of people who work hard day and day to some extent part of the problem and this is what they think is unfair.”
Likewise, the Secretary -General of the FDA – the Civil Service Union – Dave Pinman said the same radio that the issue is due to the constant change in hands in the government.
He said: “We had six prime ministers, eight of the advisers, 40 ministers in the treasury departments, and hundreds of different ministers due to the chaotic political leadership over the past ten years.
“If you want to consider how to solve the public services problem, look for the political chaos that we had to deal with as well, and not only newspapers on the establishment of civil service employees.
“We will not be at work if people are not dismissed due to poor civil service performance.”
Benman said this new plan was about “cheap headlines.”
“The idea that you can simply get more for less is the speech. It is a title not a fact.
