Prince William was forced to postpone the royal engagement in Watcham, Suffolk, which he was to visit for the first time on Thursday.
Kensington Palace published a statement confirming the news that William was unable to visit due to bad weather conditions, and said: “Unfortunately, this engagement has been postponed as a result of bad weather conditions, which would have significantly restricted the planned program.
“The Prince of Wales sends his sincere apologies to those he was scheduled to meet and hopes to reschedule his visit as soon as possible.”
The visit was to introduce the Prince of Wales to the regiments, meet service personnel from both units, and observe elements of regular training, all of which will be affected by the adverse weather conditions. The King was also scheduled to arrive at the flying station on board a Wildcast helicopter, an AAC fleet reconnaissance aircraft.
Although Kensington Palace has confirmed that the engagement will be rescheduled, there is no information yet on when that will be.
Despite the weather on this occasion, 2025 is looking bright for the Prince and his wife, Catherine, who recently announced that her cancer is in remission, with royal experts predicting that she will slowly return to her royal duties alongside William.
Royal biographer Robert Jobson told HELLO!: “Last year was an extraordinary year, and William stepped into the role of a solo global statesman, but going forward, I think Catherine will spend more time at his side.
“They will both care about their children’s education and will make sure they are there if anything crucial happens, but there will be situations where they will have to put country and duty before their children.”
Kate, 43, shared the adorable update on her recovery before visiting the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, London, where she received chemotherapy.
She said: “I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well over the past year.
“A huge thank you to all those who calmly walked alongside William and me as we navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we received throughout my time as a patient was exceptional.”
The mother-of-three continued: “It is a relief to now be in remission and remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has suffered a cancer diagnosis knows, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. However, so am I.” We look forward to an exciting year ahead. There is a lot to look forward to. Thank you everyone for your continued support.
