Waterbury, Conn – Police said on Wednesday that a man in the state of Connecticut said he had detained the prisoner for 20 years, who was rescued after he set fire to his room and told the first respondents that he did this to gain his freedom.
The wife’s wife was accused of cruelty and kidnapping.
Police said in a statement that the Waterbury had saved the 32 -year -old humor man from a room on the upper floor after they were deployed in a fire at home last month. While dealing with inhalation of smoke, he revealed that he deliberately put the fire.
“I wanted my freedom,” the man said, according to the police. He said he had detained the prisoner since he was about 11 years old.
The investigation revealed that the man, who was not named, “had been held in captivity for more than 20 years, supported long abuse, hunger, severe neglect, and involvement,” adding that he had not received medical care or teeth during that time.
“The suffering suffered by this victim for more than 20 years is a tragedy and unimaginable,” Fernando Spanioo said in a statement.
Kimberly Sullivan, 56, who was determined as a man’s wife, was charged with assault, kidnapping, illegal self -control, cruelty and reckless danger. It was called on Wednesday and was held instead of $ 300,000.
Sullivan’s lawyer, Ioannis Kaloidis, said that its client was “surprised to hear allegations” and deny them.
“What she indicated is that they were not true at all, and because we get more information, we intend to set a strong defense,” said Calidis on the phone. “But she is designed that she did not do the things she accused.”
He said he was still collecting information and could not immediately say whether anyone else lives at home.
