Palestinians in Gaza protest against Hamas for second straight day

The protests erupted on the second day in a row through the Gaza Strip, as thousands of Palestinians demanded an end to the war with Israel and expressed their anger at the Hamas leadership.

Witnesses told DPA that the demonstrations broke out in many areas on Wednesday, including Beit Lahia, Gaza City in the north and Khan Yunis in the south.

Many demonstrators publicly condemned Hamas – a rare occurrence in the region, as the Islamic Group usually turns against the opposition.

A lot of anger was directed to Hamas leaders who live abroad.

Many demonstrators accused them of ignoring the suffering of Ghazan, as many coastal strip lies in ruin after more than 17 months of war. While the living conditions in Gaza are catastrophic, it is known that some of the great enthusiasm resides in luxury in places like Qatar.

On Tuesday, hundreds also gathered in Lahia’s house to demand an end to the fighting, as some people ask for enthusiasm to step down. According to similar protests, elsewhere in the Gaza Strip.

The war began after the militants led by Hamas launched a deadly attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Since then, heavy fighting has displaced most of the population of Gaza two million, and many have lost family members in the conflict.

Last week, Israel resumed large -scale military operations after the ceasefire had collapsed with Hamas.
