Seoul, South Korea – The National Defense Ministry said on Friday that the number of people who were wounded when the fighting aircraft in South Korea accidentally shot down the bombs in a civilian area to 29 out of 15.

The ministry said that the injured are among 15 civilians and 14 military personnel. She said that seven civilians and soldiers are still in the hospital, including two civilians who were classified as seriously, while 20 other people were treated and left.

The accident occurred on Thursday during the Pochon military training, a northeastern city with a population of about 140,000 people near the border fortified with North Korea. The American forces and South Korea were conducting live exercises in the field of preparation for Freedom Shield, a joint military exercise in the annual South Korea that is scheduled to start on Monday.

A total of eight MK-82 bombs was launched “abnormally” by two South Korean Air Force KF-16S, and fell outside the shooting.

While the Freedom Shield exercise is advancing as planned, Colonel Ryan Donald, US forces spokesman (USFK), said on Friday that the American armies and South Korea had agreed to stop training on all direct fires until further notice.

Usfk said earlier that there is no US Air Force plane that participated in the exercise.

South Korea, an ally of the American Treaty, hosts approximately 30,000 American service members. The 10 -day Freedom Shield Exercise is designed to enhance the joint defense of the alliance in the face of the increasing threats of North North North nuclear armed.

North Korea criticized the Freedom Shield exercise on Friday, saying that it would exacerbate the situation on the Korean Peninsula and violate “its sovereignty, security and interests.”

“If the United States continues to renew its record of reporting the military muscles, we will have no choice but to renew our record of strategic deterrence.”
