Udne Ki Aasha has been topping the TRP charts for several weeks now, beating Anupamaa, which has had a dominant presence for years. As the show continues to impress audiences with its gripping story, Neha Harsora, who plays the lead role in Udne Ki Aasha, spoke to a media portal about the achievement. During the conversation, she shared that she didn’t feel comfortable that the show had passed over Rupali Ganguly’s Anupamaa, acknowledging the mixed emotions surrounding the milestone.
Speaking to India Forums, Neha Harsura praised Rupali Ganguly for her portrayal of the titular role in Anupamaa. She said, “She has done a wonderful job as Anupamaa. I will really adore her, maine pura kovid unka ya show dekha hai. Jab main dekhti thi toh ye sochti thi ‘Wow yaar aa su kaam kare chhe yaar, wow ye ketlu mast kare chhe.’ Ekdom is strong and independent in that way. (I watched her show during Covid and I think she is doing well, she is doing a great job. Totally strong and independent).”
Speaking about the achievement of her show Udne Ki Aasha in ousting Anupamaa, Neha Harsora added: “Nahi mujhe aise koi feeling great nahi aarahi hai. Matlab main joth nahi kahunji. Matlab acha lagta hai for the entire unit and for everyone ke humara show acha kar raha hai and sab.” pasand kar rahe hai but aisa kuch nahi hai ke ‘oh maine Anupamaa ko beat kiya hai.’ Aisa kuch nahi hai (I don’t feel any great about it. I mean, I’m not going to lie. It feels good for the entire unit and for everyone that our show is doing well and people are loving it, but there’s nothing like, ‘Oh, I’ve beaten Anupamaa.’)
Udne Ki Aasha, set against a Marathi backdrop, revolves around the lives of Sailee and Sachin, whose relationship is tested by family conflicts and personal tragedies. The show stars Kanwar Dhillon as Sachin and Neha Harsura as Saili. In the series, Sally plays a flower seller searching for her prince charming. She meets Sachin, who was raised by his grandmother. The story takes an interesting turn as the two fall in love despite their contrasting backgrounds.
