The protagonist belongs to the fourth Kazik Radwanski feature to a specific sub -group of lucky creators that we meet a lot in films: The writer who has not been written anymore. Instead, Mara (Dirag Campbell) teach it, although it is with an air without a list that does not largely carry the enthusiasm of its most eager students. She can look far and distract her when she is with her friendly musician Samir (Munir Al -Shami) and their wonderful child Affiri (Affiri Naiman).
Soon after re-contact with Matt Johnson as the title of the title of Matt and Mara-the friend of the successful writer now from the days of her youth, whose installation is preparing for an academic conference-asking her what she might write if she did it again. She tells him in principle that she is more interested in “a person who really believes that they know nothing about themselves” and that his desires are “complete secrets”. Worse than that, these desires can be revealed at any moment and “destroyed her life”.
Mara is of course describing herself, but she lacks clarity to achieve this. The question of whether to discover this or illuminate and destroy her life by decline in a relationship with Matt generating a very satisfactory mix of humor and nervous fear. Radwanski – which has acquired a broader attention to Canadian director since the first show in Berlin last year – benefits greatly from his warm charm and magic, and the attributes he shares with one of her inspiration, Eric Romer Chloe in the afternoon (1972).
These characteristics make it completely different from Ann at a speed of 13,000 feet (2019), which is the previous Radwanski feature, which has the same threads. While the former caused a state of high incitement with her image of a permanent woman on the brink of collapse, the scenes of the new movie fly with a more fun energy thanks to the relationship between Campbell and Johnson, both of whom share in a young Ranski- the lion placing in Canadian cinema. (The former was famous for its cooperation with director Sofia Bohanovic in films such as funeral measures (2024), while the latter is the star who was moved and managed by the Avalanche (2016) and BlackBerry (2023)).
Even in 80 minutes in 80 minutes, he died & Mara managed to be significantly smart about the Cocktail of her central relationship with pent -up desire and professional envy. Radwanski also explains a great understanding of the temptation that anyone has ever sought to improve the risk of being an artist by searching for a shelter in academic circles. But despite her moments of walking and self -experts, Campbell eventually raises more sympathy than contempt. The viewers cannot see decreasing hopes, but Mara will finally realize that this man is not an answer to her problems.
