A man recovers at the Brisbane Hospital after being bitten by a shark and was transferred by an air to treat the island of Mauriton Bay.

The man, who is said to be 29 years old, was in the water off the Gulf side on the island of Mauriton near the walking path in the widowment path shortly after 3 pm on Saturday.

The paramedics worked at the scene due to abdominal and leg injuries before a rescue helicopter went to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition, where he remained on Sunday morning.

This is the second shark attack in the Gulf in less than a month-after the 17-year-old Charles Zamouda died after being bitten by a shark off the island of Prix north of Brisbane in early February-and the fourth shark attack in Queensland Waters in recent months.

On December 28 last year, 40 -year -old Locke Wallo Warfs was killed by a shark near Hombe island abroad from Central Queensland, weeks after a man was transferred to the hospital after a shark attack on the nearby Cortis Island. Both of these men were spear when they were bitten.
