The phrase “You are doing it wrong” can apply to almost anything. For me, it cooks Soufflé (a lot of mixing), skiing across the country (not enough to slide), and-of all-wanders in a laptop from Windows all day and allow it to die prematurely.
It is a problem, because I tend to increase the preparation of brightness very high and rely on Windows virtual options to provide batteries to get me during the day. I would also like to be mobile, so it rarely disturbed the charger. When the laptop of the PC suddenly turns off, it cannot save me everything that penetrates the productivity in the world.
Windows PC laptops can be adjusted to continue about 30 percent if you set some settings and create a “power plan” for this day. These tactics can extend the battery life of a new machine and make an old machine more use by keeping it more on the day of work. For a typical machine, you can add a good 90 minutes of using the battery by following these tips.
Use the fast preparation key order
I will start with the greatest advice to provide the energy that I worked for me. While I am working on a laptop, I sometimes turn my phone or tablet and forget my laptop mode in standby mode. The laptop sitting inactivity for a period of time with the screen is running, which consumes energy. I started using a major matter demanding this problem.
With Windows 11, when you click Alt + F4, you will see a menu that shows options for a laptop to sleep or in standby mode. Any option will save energy.
I decided to measure the effect of doing so. I used a laptop computer alienware X16 R2 games throughout the day without putting it in a sleep mode, and it lasted about six hours with continuous use (the company says the battery is supposed to last seven hours). After that, I used a trick to put it in a place of stillness every time I make a phone call or turned into the iPad. The laptop ran about 90 minutes longer on that day! It is a little annoying to wait until the laptop wakes up when you return to it, but it is worth it.
Reducing the update rate on the screen
I didn’t realize this until I started testing laptops to press more battery power, but reducing the screen update rate is very effective in saving energy. The reason is related to how to display the laptop, especially on old models.
The high update rate makes games and videos look smoother (images “is” updated “on the screen), but on the laptop work hard to push those pixels, and this drains the battery. The latest laptops like Alienware X16 R2 that you tested will automatically reduce the update rate when the battery reserves are low, but if your Windows computer is a few years old, you can manually adjust the update rate.
Click StartThen move to Settings > system > an offer > Advanced display settings. Look to prepare the update rate and select 60 Hzz. Microsoft estimates that reducing your update rate to this setting alone can save between 10 to 30 percent over the battery life. Your games and your videos may not look smooth, but if you are gay and use Google documents all day, you will barely notice.
Create a complex energy plan
If you are not ready to run at a reduced update rate throughout the day, then another trick is to use the energy plan. Windows 11 allows you to create multiple energy plans for various tasks or parts of your business day, then switch between them.
For example, you can check the email in the morning and you can rely on the preparation of the lower brightness, less performance, and delay the shorter before the laptop goes to the preparation mode. In the afternoon, you may prefer more power to watch videos and browse the web. Then, at night, you can use a more balanced battery setting to finish today.
