Lizzo, the pop star, responded to the onslaught of anti-obesity comments she receives on a daily basis.
In a series of private tweets now, Lizzo He replied, once againTo the conversation surrounding her body. She spoke specifically about this tweet:
“I just logged into this app and this is the kind of crap I see about me on a daily basis,” she began. “It’s really starting to make me hate the world.”
“I’m tired of explaining myself all the time, and I just want to get on this app without seeing my name in some bullshit,” said Lizzo, who is unfortunately no stranger to advocating for herself and her body.
Lizzo then responded to another tweet that claimed her body size was her “brand.” “I’m not trying to get fat. I’m not trying to be smaller. I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy,” Lizzo said.
“My ‘brand’ is good music. My ‘brand’ is championing all people. My ‘brand’ is BLACK GIRL LIBERATION,” she stressed.
Lizzo then pointed out how she’s constantly criticized, no matter what she does: “I’ve always led [with] My talent…but when I dropped ‘Good As Hell’, the feel-good music was ‘corny’.
“Love definitely doesn’t outweigh hate on social media… all because I’m fat??? This is crazy,” she tweeted.
“Y’all don’t know how close I came to ditching everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on the fucking farm…” Lizzo finished by saying.
It seems like the conversation surrounding Lizzo’s body has never stopped, as these tweets came even after Lizzo spoke out about anti-obesity comments during her acceptance speech at the Oscars. 2022 MTV VMAs. “Lizzo, why don’t you clap back?” she asked rhetorically. “Because, bitch, I win, you hoe!”
And of course, being fat doesn’t mean you’re unhealthy. Obviously, people should learn to be kind and not make unwanted comments about anyone’s body, regardless of their shape or size.
