In midfield, Romeo Lavia is hoping for a long-awaited return after missing the last five league matches due to a hamstring injury.
The Belgian is back in first-team training and Maresca hinted that the 21-year-old could feature this afternoon.
Summer arrivals Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Omari Kylieman remain sidelined with injuries, while Maresca has confirmed that Cesar Casadei will not feature as he remains linked with a January exit.
“For him, maybe at this moment, the idea is not to let him play some minutes in case there is any chance for him to go and play,” Maresca said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
Tyreek George and Marc Guyot, who started Chelsea’s last Conference League match, could get more Cup minutes in the attacking positions as Maresca looks to rest his two key strikers for their midweek clash with Bournemouth.
