Multiple copies of IBM’s Flamingo quantum chip can be linked together

IBM

IBM plans to build the largest quantum computer yet, by linking smaller devices together to create a device containing a record number of quantum bits, or qubits. The company’s first steps on this path in 2025 will supposedly set a new qubit record, and it plans to eventually more than triple the size of the largest existing quantum computer.

It’s only been six years since IBM unveiled its first commercial quantum computer. This device contained 20 qubits, the building blocks of any quantity.
