At least 231 people were killed and hundreds of others were injured after a huge truck bomb on Saturday, the capital, Somalia, was injured in Mogadishu.
The Somali government blamed the militant group linked to al -Qaeda in this attack, describing it as the most bloody ever to strike the nation.
The explosion took place outside the Safari Hotel, where rescue workers dug through the ruins of the collapsed buildings overnight in search of survivors. Witnesses described a devastating scene with a wide massacre, as doctors worked feverish to come to the dead and wounded, and many burned.
“The hospital is drowned in both dead and wounded,” Dr. Mohamed Youssef, Director of Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah Hospital is located near the explosion, He said Associated Press. Family personnel searched through the debris and waited in local hospitals in the hope of finding relatives who survived the bombing.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullah Mohamed announced three days of mourning. The attacks received international condemnation, including from the United States.
