Brooke Shields has mirrored her brief appearance in Friends, and the prank Matthew Perry played on set that she awkwardly tried to imitate.
The late actor played Chandler Bing in all 10 seasons of the beloved comedy, alongside cast members David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Jennifer Aniston.
The series, which officially ended in 2004, also received a string of famous guest stars over the years, including Bruce Willis, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, Ben Stiller, and Brad Pitt to name a few.
During an appearance on The View earlier today, the 59-year-old actress revealed her one-episode stint as Chase Joey in Season 2, recalling: “You go on a very good, very successful show, and I was like, ‘This is a fan — all I wanted was To love me.
“I just wanted to be funny, but I wasn’t on set. They were so tight. They had all these inside jokes.
However, Shields said she ended up getting carpet burns all over her knees after she saw Perry playing a prank on her co-stars, and tried to follow suit.
“I watched and they had an inside joke that they did a lot,” she told the panel. Matthew Perry did it. “If I can make him laugh, it will feel so good,” I thought.
“He would do it – you can’t do it now, it’ll be cancelled – he would run and throw himself on the ground in front of a girl, and pretend to look up her skirt.
“Once again, you will be canceled today…
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, I know what I’m going to do.’ So, I ran… I ran very fast from one end of the stage to the other, threw myself on the floor, and pretended to look at his pant leg.
‘And everyone was quiet. I’m on the floor and I’m like, “I’m just disgusting! I look like a crazy person!”
“I was on the floor for an hour, maybe one second, and all of a sudden he started laughing, and they all started laughing.”
He said: How did you know to do that? I said, “I was just watching you and I just wanted to thank you for giving us such humor.”
Shields’ comments come just days after Kudrow revealed that she recently found a letter from Perry hidden inside a friend who had given her a gift from the set, to commemorate the end of the series.
The pair, who have shared the screen together for a decade, have maintained a close friendship in the years since the finale aired.
During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, actress Phoebe Buffay explained that he gave her a Cookie Time jar from Monica’s (Courtney) kitchen, after they filmed their final scenes.
Although he received the gift years ago, the “No Good Deed” star recently found a note he placed inside it.
“Matthew gave me that at the end of the last episode,” she told the host. I recently found the letter he had for me. I did not open it or look inside.
But yeah, he did it. “He had a note there and I forgot it.”
Although she did not share the contents of the message, she simply added: “Timing is everything.”
