Fox News reached a finishing second settlement with Dominion voting systems on Tuesday, as the case raced towards opening data, and paid more than 787 million dollars to end a huge legal battle of two years that have made the credibility of the right -wing network publicly.

Fox News’ 787.5 million dollars with Dominion voting systems is the largest known defamation settlement for the public in the history of the United States with a media company.

The deal was announced hours after the Palfin Passengers ’Constitutional in the Dilayer Supreme Court established. Rumors of a settlement spread in the court when the procedures stop significantly for about three hours without any explanation, while the parties apparently removed an agreement.

Judge Eric Davis said: “The parties have resolved their issue,” before the jury of 12 members rejected them, attributing them to giving the parties a driving force to reach a settlement, and effectively spared lawyers from both sides, and presented the so -called “trial of the century” before they started.

Dominionian Justin Nelson’s lawyer said the leading settlement “represents justification and accountability.” “In order to bear our democracy for another 250 years, and we hope to share a commitment to facts … Today represents the support of the ringing of truth and democracy.”

The right -wing network said in a statement that it “acknowledges[s] The rulings of the court that found certain claims about sovereignty as wrong, “referring to Davis’s recent ruling that 20 broadcasts of news in late 2020 contained incorrect assurances that Dominion falsified the presidential elections. But Fox will not have to recognize the air that it is spreading in Dominion, as Dominican representative told CNN.

The payment of $ 787.5 million is approximately half of the amount of $ 1.6 billion that Dominion initially sought, although it is about 10 times the company’s rating from 2018, and about eight times its annual revenue in 2021, according to court files.

The last minute agreement means that the case that has been closely monitored has ended and will not follow the trial. Through stability with Dominion, Executive officials of Fox News and prominent personalities on the air will be implemented from the 2020 election coverage, which were full of lies about the voter’s fraud.

FOX's lawyers leave the court after the voting systems in Dominion, Fox settled a defamation case of $ 787.5 million, and avoided trial, on Fox's coverage of the requests to get rid of elections, at the Dilayer Supreme Court, in Wilmengton, Dilayer, April 18, 2023.

The list of witnesses included the President of the Fox Corporation Ruert Murdoch, the CEO of his son Lachlan Murdoch, and Top Fox hosts such as Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. Email messages, e -messages, texts, and deposit certificate published during the case revealed that these numbers, and many other numbers in Fox, said in 2020 that voting claims against Dominion were Asinin. But lies spread on the air anyway.

Robert Murdoch believed that denying the elections was “really crazy”, even when Fox’s personalities collected those same allegations of millions of viewers. Carlson said he was “enthusiastically” that Donald Trump, whose presidency was a “disaster.” The Fox hosts, producers, facts, and senior executives in particular in allegations of the air for stolen elections “Koky”, “Ranage Razed” and “amazing nuts” elections.

This detection was born months of Fox’s main headlines as the issue moves towards the experiment. Through stability now, Fox Dominion has deprived an opportunity to increase the betrayal of trust through a week -long trial.

“This settlement reflects Fox’s continuous commitment to the highest press standards,” Fox said in a statement on Tuesday. “We hope that our decision will allow this conflict to resolve with Dominion amicably, instead of the argument of the divisive trial, for the country to move forward with these cases.”

Fox News and Fox Corporation – its mother company, which was also invited – asserts that it never distorted Dominion, and says that the case was an attack on journalistic freedoms of the first amendment.

Settlement speculation reached a temperature in recent days, especially after the court announced on Sunday a delay for a single day to start the trial, which was scheduled to start originally on Monday.

The selection of the jury was concluded as planned on Tuesday morning, and both sides defeated the opening data. They are even briefly intertwined on objections to specific slides in their shows. But when the procedures were not resumed immediately after lunch, the chances of the deal seemed to rise by a minute, although the senior lawyers on both sides sat in the courtroom, looking at their phones, and waiting.

The various jury, the sixth of the six men and six women, returned to the court, ready for the front row seat for a historical trial. But Davis, the judge, told the committee that they helped stimulate a settlement.

Davis said: “Your presence here, in short compared to what I thought about, and not calm in a certain sense, was extremely important,” Davis said. “Without you, the parties were not able to solve their situation.”

On the side of Dominion, many on the side of the settlement as a victory for democracy and the same truth.

“Fox has admitted to telling lies about the sovereignty that caused huge damage to my company, our employees and customers we serve,” said Dominion CEO John Paulus on Tuesday outside the court.

Despite the end of the Dominion case now, Fox News still faces a second major celebration of Smartmatic, another voting technology company that has been stained similarly on Fox News after the 2020 elections. This issue is still in the discovery process, and the experiment is not expected to be any time soon.

For its part, Dominion still has lawsuits against NewsMax and Oan from right -wing TV networks, as well as against Trump Rudi Juliani, Sydney Powell and Mike Lindel. They all deny violations.
