Florence Pugh wants to work with Andrew Garfield again “with every bone in her body”.
The two British actors worked together for the first time in the new romantic drama We Live in Time, in which they play a chef and a cereal executive who find their lives changed forever when a chance brings them together.
By the end of filming, Pugh felt like she and Garfield had connected in a way she’d never experienced before with a fellow actor — and she’s certain another “amazing partnership” was on the cards.
“We really felt like we stuck together, and I felt like my abilities were respected and restored to his,” she told Esquire. “When we finished, we both felt, what an amazing partnership we had created, and what an amazing thing to know that we would be doing it again.”
While she admitted there were no immediate plans for them to collaborate again, the Don’t Worry Darling star said she hoped another project would happen “with every bone in her body.”
Pugh and Garfield first met on Zoom with director John Crowley before presenting an award together at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Reflecting on that experience, The Dune: Part Two star added, “(It was) surreal, knowing that in a few months you’ll hopefully be connected in this special way, but right now you’re strangers.”
After the show ended, fans invited them to work together, and We Live in Time was officially announced the following week.
The romantic drama is in UK cinemas now.
