F.B.I. Suspends Employee on Patel’s So-Called Enemies List

The FBI commented as an analyst in the list of Cash Patel’s enemies after Mr. Patel told the legislators that the office under his leadership will remain outside the political battle and the employees are not punished for partisan reasons.

Last week, the analyst, Brian Oten, put on an administrative leave, according to the people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of not revealing his identity because they are afraid of revenge. The reasons for the suspension are still unclear.

The FBI refused to comment. Mr. Oton’s lawyer also refused to comment.

The comment is likely to raise questions about whether this step is revenge, and the extent to which Mr. Patel was associated with his promise, who during his assertion session in January, that the agency will rise above the party despite the pressure from President Trump’s allies to shoot the employees who participated in the investigations conducted by the governors.

The comment of Mr. Otten, who had already been disciplined and interrogated in a criminal investigation, is likely to increase Mr. Patel’s inadequacy among the employees who have seen senior leaders who were forced to go out in recent months without any explanation.

Mr. Oton worked to achieve two major investigations that angered Mr. Trump and Mr. Battle, including the FBI investigation in Russian intervention during the 2016 presidential elections. He also participated in analyzing information on the laptop in Hunter Biden, a discovery that led to the movement of the presidential campaign for 2020.

Mr. Patel described Russia’s investigation as a hoax, and Mr. Otun devoted in his book “Governmental Gangs Communities”. In the book, Mr. Patel claimed that the FBI was trying to “hide and revolve” what was called “the corruption of the Biden family buried in the laptop, even when the agents achieved the matter.

“Governmental Gangsmen” also included a list of 60 names in an attachment called “Deep State”.

Mr. Otten was among the names listed in the appendix. In his confirmation session, Mr. Patel denied that it was a list of enemies.

He told members of the Senate: “It is a complete misunderstanding,” he told members of the Senate. He later added: “There will be no politicization in the FBI, there will be no reference measures taken by any FBI. Should the FBI director should be confirmed.”

Mr. Oten’s comment came after he and others were disciplined due to serious mistakes in the requests of the FBI to obtain a secret monitoring note that includes the former Trump campaign adviser.

Mr. Aven played an important role in revealing the primary source behind the rumors file and unstable assurances on Mr. Trump. Object monitoring requests partially relied on the file that Mr. Otten has widely examined.

People said that in the aftermath of Russia’s investigation, known as Hurricane Kabrnifier, Mr. Otten was suspended for 30 days. After Mr. Patel became a manager, Mr. Otten was transferred from the Anti -Spy Department, one of the people said.

In his book, Mr. Patel condemned Mr. Oten.

“However, like his superiors, Otun has not faced any real accountability in light of these results,” he wrote. “The fact that AUTEN was not separated from the FBI and a trial on his part in the Russian Gate plot is a national embarrassment.”

The Inspector General of the Ministry of Justice found that the FBI officials had a sufficient reason to open the crossing hurricane, and they did not find evidence that the investigation had political motives.

The report said: “We did not find documentary evidence or testimonies that the political bias or the incorrect motivation affected” the officials ’decision to open the investigation.

John E said. Durham, Special Adviser appointed by Mr. Trump to examine the investigation into Russia, in his final report that “as a preliminary issue, the FBI has a positive commitment to a close examination” the party that paid the investigation.

But Mr. Durham accused the FBI of “the confirmation bias.”

In 2020, the New York Post informed the laptop that Mr. Biden once used, and wrote that he had a spoon against him and his father Joseph R. Biden Junior, who was nominating the presidency.

In his book, Mr. Patel criticized the role of Mr. Otten in the episode, claiming that he had tried to “distort any insulting information about Hunter Biden by falsely claiming that none of them was true.”
