DOGE is reportedly building a ‘master database’ of government information

The committee also received reports on the disturbing efforts made by Dog to combine the sensitive information that SSA, IRS, HHS and other agencies in a master’s database via agencies. Improving how federal agencies exchange data to improve results and customer service is a long -term goal and two parties in Congress. However, the information obtained by the committee indicates that Dog is carrying out its work in a way that ignores the considerations of cybersecurity and important privacy, and perhaps in a violation of the law.

In a clear attempt to avoid network safety control items, the committee learned that DOGE engineers tried to create specialized computers for themselves that simultaneously provide full access to networks and databases via different agencies. Such a system would pose unprecedented operational security risks and undermine cybersecurity in the zero confidence that prevents breach in one agency from spreading through the government. The information obtained by the committee also indicates that the individuals associated with DOGE have collected backpacks full of laptops, each of which has access to various agencies systems, which DOGE employees use to combine the databases that are currently kept by multiple federal agencies.
