Luke Littler has insisted he will not hit Michael van Gerwen with his fist after sets during the World Championship final.
Criticism has been leveled at the lighthearted nature of the teenager’s victories over Nathan Aspinall and Stephen Ponting, with the favorite joking with his opponents on his way to victory.
But that won’t be the case against the three-time champion on stage tonight.
“Obviously if we win a set, we won’t clash with each other,” Littler explained.
“But that’s what I did with Stephen and Nathan. We’re good friends…Nathan and I after the set, we gave each other a fist bump. Stephen and I did the same thing.”
“Nathan, me and Stephen are really good mates. When we win a set, we do what we do. But as soon as the referee says ‘match starts’, that’s when the match starts.”
