British actress Simon Ashley says she believes the industry “has come a long way” in terms of diversification – but she says the process continues.
Bridgerton star and sexual education star said she liked to watch Hollywood Kings Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz and Anna Hathaway on the leadership of ROMCOM.
But the 29 -year -old girl – of Tamil Hindi origin and raised in Sari – says she has never seen people like her in these roles.
Ashley Sky News told Ashley News: “I always wanted to play such a character,” I told Ashley Sky News.
“Therefore, when we got the text program, I just jumped – because I wanted to fill these shoes, and a kind of restoring this world in the 1990s.”
This image of Simon’s new movie is seen in the starring role as London Pia photographer, who is moving in a struggle company while dealing with societal pressures to find love.
Although the character is more than satisfied with the life she built, the prediction of the spiritual teacher threatens to throw this in chaos while creating five blind dates.
Hero Fiennes Tiffin – post -film series, his nephew Ralph and Joseph Fein – and the British comedy asim chaudhry also joins the image.
Ashley goes on: “What was important in this movie is that we celebrated and promoted culture, and any aspects of the comedy were only from the same characters – he was not mocking culture.”

“Part of Change”
While the film is focused on South Asian family, Ashley says this is not what the viewers want to take from.
“This is a story that is a classic story – and I want to be the point of sale, so we normalize this novel.
“Advertising paintings are not” an Indian girl in the movie. “
“I am very proud, very happy, and I hope all women – not only South Asian women – will see themselves in this character.”

Not only is the first movie Mark Ashley, but also its first executive product.
Since it was named one of the Variety 2021 to watch, she made her seal on the world of acting – the most prominent of which is the leading lady Kate Sharma in the second season of the Netflix Perex Bridgerton drama.
She recently confirmed that she will release her first music album soon.
Ashley has already chosen what she described as a “restricted” nature as an Indian actress – and how it took longer to storm the industry compared to her white peers.
But it says the industry is changing.
“I think we have come a long way – I think we are part of change and I think more films are like [Picture This] – More women like you in your seat, and more women in my seat – I think this is part of the change. “
