Before taking the oath of office, President Donald Trump made it clear he meant business. There’s a whole list of executive orders he intends to sign once he officially becomes president, covering a wide range of topics, including borders and the economy, as well as matters related to DEI and gender ideology.
According to reports, Trump plans to participate in a signing ceremony at the Capitol immediately after the inauguration but then appears set to do some signing at Capital One Arena during the indoor “parade” ceremonies there.
President Trump is expected to sign more than 200 executive orders on Monday, here’s what to expect
Confirmed: Trump will sign executive orders today to send the military to the border and end birthright citizenship
On Monday morning, the Trump-Vance transition team hosted several press calls regarding the expected orders. One was titled “Restoring Common Sense” and focused on two things in particular. here He turned over On these commands:
WASHINGTON — On his first day in office on Monday, President Trump will issue an order defining a person’s sex as “male or female” — requiring government agencies to use the “immutable” designation on forms and ID cards while also ordering changes to federal prison policies. That governs transgender prisoners.
“What we are doing today is defining that US policy is to recognize both genders: male and female. These genders are unchangeable, and they are based on a basic, indisputable reality,” a new White House official told reporters.
…
The order would prevent people from changing their gender on U.S. passports — which currently allow holders to choose male, female or “X” — and would attempt to ban transitional medical treatment for prisoners. Both new policies are likely to face litigation.
The order will require the State Department, Homeland Security and other agencies to “ensure that official government documents, including passports and visas, accurately reflect gender,” the new official said.
The order also aims to “protect women’s intimate spaces.”
“We will add privacy in intimate settings… like women’s prisons, migrant women’s shelters, rape shelters — to make sure taxpayer dollars are not used for so-called transitional services,” the incoming official said of Trump’s order.
It is unclear how this policy will affect transgender prisoners currently in women’s prisons.
Moreover, on this MLK Day, Trump will issue an order to “end wasteful DEI programs” and return to treating Americans based on the content of their character, not the color of their skin. The purpose is to treat Americans equally and as individuals, a goal that May Millman, deputy assistant to the president and chief political strategist, described as morally and legally required.
As indicated above, the orders will undoubtedly face legal challenges. However, it does set a sign that the Trump administration will focus, among other things, on rooting out woke ideology from the bureaucracy.
