Apple Shoppers Are Reportedly Panic-Buying iPhones Amid Looming Tariffs

Fear of the high prices of iPhone before the new definitions of President Donald Trump pushes some customers to perform purchases.

Bloomberg reports The Apple Store employees have seen an increase in traffic during the weekend amid increasing concerns that iPhone prices may rise sharply after a new tariff. IPhone devices, which represent the majority of Apple revenues, are manufactured in China, a country now faces a tariff of up to 54 %.

One of the staff told Bloomberg that the mutation felt a little like the shopping season. Although many customers asked about a possible increase in prices, the company did not provide the store staff guidance on how to respond to these inquiries.

Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The company’s evaluation decreased by more than half a trillion dollars in late last week, which represents its worst performance during that time period in more than two decades.

Buying panic may increase sales in the short term of the iPhone maker, but it will not be the greatest impact of the perceived definitions until the next quarter.

According to Bloomberg, Apple has been stored to prepare definitions and accelerate production attacks to India, where tax rates are lower. Times of India reports Apple has transported five loads of iPhone from India and China to the United States in the last week of March as part of this effort to maintain stable prices.

Apple also manufactures some of its products in other countries, including Vietnam, Malaysia and Ireland.
